What do you think about parents getting their young children pierced?

I like piercings depending on where they are really.

I have my belly-button pierced, and two piercings in my ear-lobes, and one at the top of my right ear, but I haven't put anything in it for years. I'm getting a third in my right ear-lobe soon as well, and maybe a second in the top of my right ear too (maybe). =p

As for parents getting their kids pierced; I don't like it. Especially very young children and babies. Getting a hole through your body is an individual decision that shouldn't be made at such a young age, or by someone else. It's their body, not their parents'!

It kinda upsets me when I see younglings with piercings. Especially when I think about how scared they must have been when it was done. I mean, they're so small and at certain ages they don't understand what's going on. So to be sitting there all happy and painfree one minute, and then have someone basically hurt you for no reason that you can understand... it's horrible.

I got my first piercing when I was in my final year of Junior School, and it was something I thought about alot before deciding to go through with it. My mum was encouraging towards the idea as she'd always wondered why I'd never got it done before. But it didn't matter what she or anyone else thought either way, to be honest. It was my body and I wasn't going about this lightly.

I'm not good with pain, for a start. And it is, essensially, a permanant hole through your body. It would be a permanant change to my body and I had to be as sure as I could that I wanted this for life. So far; I'm glad I got them pierced, and I've since had my belly-button done, a hole in the top of my right ear, and recently had a second hole put into both my lobes, and I'm thinking of having one or two more holes done in my right ear (as I mentioned earlier).

So yeah, I'm happy with mine. It'd be interesting to hear of anyone who's had piercings and regretted it, actually. It'd be nice to hear their views when they had them, and the difference in their views now.

I can not stand it when people get their children's ears pierced. It is a selfish thing to do because the parent only does it because they think it looks good and not for the benefit of the child at all. It is a fashion statement and I think it should be banned.

Can't wait to get my new piercings!! Only 16 days to go!! =D

I don't mind people with peircings, it's their choice. I've only got the one peircing, and that's how it's going to stay, lol

I think I'll definatly get my second hole in the top of my right ear (above the one I already have). Maybe tomorrow, actually.

i got pierce on my tongue and in my ears..i have nothing against with people who got a lot of piercing..but for me..- piercing is enough..my mum almost scream to death when she saw my tongue pierce..im 21 and she still thinks im still her baby..

Well I've got 4 piercings myself, 2 in each ear.

I love piercings on men I think it just looks pure sexy especially certain face ones

I would love to get a few more done myself but I'm not sure where.. lol I'm not one for stuff like nipple piercing or anything that just plain freaks me out lol

I've always wanted my Tongue pierced though, I still do but again my boyfriend doesn't like it lol Says it would be like kissing a scrapyard

My parents done my ears when I was little, I've never felt any remorse over it or anything, I don't think I would personally get my kids done though. I would wait until they are older to ask for it.

I got them done this morning!! =D

My tongue one felt nothing like what I was expecting. I was expecting like, a piercing pain (obviously), but it just felt, well, tight. That's actually exactly what it felt like; tight.

It aches now, but it's worth it. =D

My lip one was worse! After the ease of my tongue, I guess I was expecting my lip to be even easier. But it actually caught me my surprise and bought tears to my eyes for a moment! XD

My lip doesn't hurt at all now though. Hehe!!

I'm really happy with them. Not sure if my lip looks better with a stud or ring, but, for the moment, it's a stud coz it's better to get pierced with and easier to get used to and look after during the early stages.

My next are gonna be another one on my lip, right next to the one I have already (also known as a spiderbite), and a second in the top of my right ear.
