I don't think I'll be doing anything. I broke up with my boyfriend for one, and he's mad at me, so I don't think we're doing anything. I be a 'free bird', btw. Also, I don't like Valentine's Day at all. It just makes me feel... too couply and not myself. I've always been a loner, until recently (which is kinda weird feelin').

I don't think of February 14th as Valentines Day; I think of it as a fan anniversary. On February 14, 2002, I saw an interview with NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip for the first time. He's been my favourite driver ever since. I call February 14th my Mikey fan anniversary. I'll be watching him race in the Nationwide Series race on the 14th.

Y'know, and no offence to any of you guys (I'm speaking in general), I've noticed people like to whinge about any holiday possible. All through Christmas I hear about how much people don't like it too.

People just seem to love complaining about, and just plain being grumpy about, anything that holds the opportunity for alot of people (including themselves - they seem to forget) to actually forget the usual daily stress, and be happy.

I love Christmas, and I love Valentines.

And, until last year, I hadn't had a real decent Christmas since when I was a kid.

And I've never, ever, had a decent Valentines. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna grump about the holiday.

I like people having fun, and, though you never need an excuse to say "I love you", it's a damn good excuse to go all-out, and (as I said) forget your usual troubles for the day.

And man, even if you're not with someone, there's no need to be emo og get the grumps. Just have some fun anyways!! Buy yourself and/or another single friend some choccies or something, and just have a good night together. A singles night with some mates or something.

Hell, I'm going out to a Valentines Party and I don't have a "someone" and I don't plan on getting a "someone" at this party. I'm going with some mates (some single, some not), and we're going for the fun of it.

Yeah, I suppose I might have a li'l emo moment to myself, coz I guess I'd kinda like to have someone special of my own, but hey, if it happens one day, it happens one day. Life's pretty much awesome in every other way, so what have I got to moan about? =p

It's another excuse for some fun, dudes!! Roll with it!!

no i cant roll with it, like most "holiday" seem to have lost all there meaning and just have become about spending money. not long after xmas had done Easter eggs where out in the shop's. all these holiday have been hijacked to brain wash people into spending more money, getting into debt etc. i like having as mush fun as possible. but if someone need Valentines day to show the one they love that They love them there is something wrong.
but fair play if people want to fall 4 this holiday and feel the need to show fake affections by buying stuff so be it.
also so I'm glad I'm not with anyone at the moment because that look of disappointments on there faces is never nice to see when treat it like any other day Twisted Evil yeah Mr meanie

Yeah, unfortunatly, some people (and certainly companies) are like that. But not everyone, and the holidays only become about money if you let it. And I refuse to.

I did know someone who would throw a stupid tantrum if her boyfriend didn't spend, what she concidered to be, enough money on her (and not just on Valentines either). It made me f*cking sick.

They're not together anymore, by-the-way. XD

Anyways, I love Christmas for what it means to me. And the same goes for Valentines. Yeah, I'm not with someone myself, but I like it for what it can be, and for what it is to couples who really are in love.

I don't believe you need to buy someone something to prove you love them, but why wouldn't you want to treat someone?

Money means bugger all to me, but I love spending it on other people, because I love people smiling.

I know I'm a little late to say what I was going to be doing, but I thought I should offer some input.

I do agree that Valentine's day has become too commercialised, there's too much focus on getting peoples money, but why should we let it be this way?

We're not mindless robots who need to be told how to celebrate something. Valentine's Day IS a day of love, no matter how it's put across. There is nothing to say that you should spend any money. If you have to pay money to say "I love you", then why say it at all? Love cannot be brought, it cannot be sold.

This Valentine's Day, I was at my grandparent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. Yes, they got married on Valentine's Day. They've been together day in and day out ever since. They hate being apart from each other for any length of time. Neither of them spend any money for Valentine's day and they still know how the other feels.

After the party that was held at my aunty's, I went round to my girlfriends. Unfortunately, I was ill, so I didn't stay too long. I never said "I love you" or even "Happy Valentine's Day", because I don't need to. I did feel bad because I didn't get her anything, but that's only because she got me a few things. I'm not worrying about this because I am actually working on a poem.

A poem costs nothing, writing a little letter costs nothing, but they mean so much more than a card that could potentially cost you £10 because they are YOUR own words used to describe YOUR own feelings. The card and, more specifically, the message, isn't worth the material it's made of; but something you write yourself, is priceless by comparison.

Sorry if I droned on a bit, lol
