I gots it!! I finally gots it!! X3 *wheeeee*
Kaze bought it for me yesterday!! ♥♥♥♥♥
On first play, I made a "test family", just so I could get back into the swing of things after not playing a Sims game for a good couple of years (wow), and also to see how this new version works.
I've only got the base game at the moment, but that's all I want right now. I find it annoying that alot of Sims 2 players complain that Sims 3 doesn't have "this" or "that". Neither did Sims 2 until it's expansions started coming out.
And I think it's good to have a limited amount to begin with. It gives you time to get to grips with how things works, enjoy everything you have right now, and getting your Sims the skills they want/need, before then having to learn a bunch of new stuff when an expansion comes out.
One first play, without any custom content, I love it! The only cheat I played with was the Motherlode money cheat, and that was because I wanted them to have a bigger house, and be jobless for a little while so I could play with them all first.
I'm planning to install some custom content (mainly clothes and hair styles) today, so we'll see how that goes. Installing stuff on Sims 3 works a little differently to how it worked on Sims 2, so I'm currently reading up on it and plan to follow it step-by-step. XD
I very much love that you can change your Sims' weight, muscles, and bust. And you have the option of colour sliders too, so your hair doesn't have to be one shade of whatever. You can change four different tones, including roots and highlights. So you can have multi-coloured hair if you want, or just use the sliders to create a more realistic or unique shade.
You don't need to shop for clothes, which is great (everything's already avalible in your wardrobe), but I think I'll miss the whole shopping experiance. It's nice to stand around in shops and meet new Sims.
Shopping for food (and books) is also very simple. You walk/drive to the shop, and your Sims enters. You don't. And it gives you a whole list of things to buy. Again, nice in some ways, but boring in others.
I think I'll leave it there for now. If there's anything you wanna know, ask away and I'll experiment. XP
