What do you guys think of organ donation?

And what's your view on the "presumed consent" system that's recently been discussed?

I'm on the organ donation register myself, and I think the presumed consent system should definatly be put in place. I can't see why they haven't done it, and I can't see how anyone can honestly argue that it's a bad idea.

For those of you who don't know, the presumed consent system basically puts you on the organ donation list automatically. Of course, you can choose not to be on it and it would probably take little more than going to a website and saying so.

Yet, for some reason, this country has decided not to put this system in place.

I think it would help sooooo many people. Alot of people actually aren't on the register purely because of laziness or forgetfullness.

I hope the country changes it's mind and puts the presumed consent system in place because it would save so many lives.

its not put in cos theres the fear that doctors wouldnt do their best to keep patients alive cos they'd want the organs
but yeah i agree there should be way more motive for doing it and more opportunity.
