    Physical Health Empty Physical Health

Post by Fizzie Sat May 17, 2008 3:15 am

I meant to make this topic ages ago, but only just reminded myself. Haha!!

Do you think people these days don't care enough about their health, or that people these days worry about their health too much?

Do you think people are going over-the-top with all this "no artificial colourings, flavourings, etc, etc."?

Do you think you get enough exercise?

Do you think you eat too much junk?

Do you think it's about time that healthier food became more affordable?

Do you care what other people think about your outward appearance?

    Share your views. Hehe!!

yes i get loads of exercise, and no im not bothered about my outwards appearance. and i find you can eat as much "junk" as you like as long as you eat enough "healthier food" and exercise to balance it out.

healthier foods. i believe this is just a con because they are packaged as healthier foods but a lot are no more healthier than their normal lines that they offer

"Do you think people these days don't care enough about their health, or that people these days worry about their health too much?"

I think people these days are lazy they want to look like what the media says they should look like, which is why so many superficial sheep walking around, looking for short cut to meet theses ideals.
that being said who give a F*** if you don't conform too the said ideal?
not me, so what if you are what the "media" calls unhealthy, if you are happy thats what counts. I say be who you want to be, and don't let others define you.

I read this online and wondered if anyone (who knows more about this kinda stuff than me) can tell me if it's true or not:

"Drinking eight glasses of cold iced water each day burns about 60 calories.

Your body has to work to raise that waters temperature to your body's temperature. This results in burning about 420 calories per week."

a while ago i read somewhere that while drinking ice cold water change your metabalisem(sp), and burn a few calories. you would have to drink more water than your body can handle, and would risk lowering your core temperature

My physical health is just peachy right now...

After getting a cold (which isn't copmpletely cleared-up yet), I then got a really nasty migraine (which is set to attack again), and now I've done something to one of my toes pain shoots through it whenever I walk.

    The the crap is going on with my body!? O_O;

Okay. Some weirdness has been happening to me this morning.

I was feeling light-headed and just "not with with it". I still don't feel right, but the light-headedness has gone and been replaced with a slight headache.

My vision wasn't right earlier too. It seems to be okay now though.

Something else weird just happened though. From my little finger, each finger on my left hand started going numb and tingly. This then happened to my lips and my nose.

It seems to be gone now, but I've never had that happen to me before and it's kinda creepy.

    =/

I have lost a lot of weight, which has helped with me setting a new PB in my 10k run 2day, but next year its back to the gym to put all that weight back on.

coughing up blood and having a random nose bleed are not good things, you should go to a doc, and if you don't like the one you see get a 2nd opinion.

If he wasn't qualified, then he wouldn't be there. Not to mention the fact you can request to see a different doctor anyways. And it sounds like something you really need to get sorted straight away.

I'm in so much paaaiiin!! I think I might die!!

Um... maybe not... but I'm definatly hurting.

It all started when I was out dancing last Thursday and my knee suddenly stabbed me with much pain, and I couldn't stand on it. It seemed to feel better after just a few minutes, so I continued to dance.

On the Friday morning, I woke-up in immense pain and couldn't move my leg at all because it hurt so much. It seemed to (very) slowly get abit better during the day, so I went out to play pool and then dancing again that night.

But it was a rock night, and so I was jumping around all over the place. And my knee just bust again, and I ended-up on the floor. Again, the pain died down and I carried on.

And on the Saturday morning, the pain was terrible again. I didn't go out that night coz it just hurt way too much.

Anyways, it seemed to be alot on better on the Sunday (I think - might've been Monday). So I didn't think anymore about it...

Until Tuesday. Tuesday night, we were doing karaoke at my place, and I knelt to change the disc, and I felt some pain in my knee again. It wasn't much, but since then, it seems to be getting worse.

I can't actually bend it properly now because it's hard to move, and it just hurts waaay too much. I can't even walk up stairs without feeling like I'm gonna cry because of the amount of pain I'm in everytime I have to bend my knee to take a step.

Really annoyed coz now I can't go to rock night tonight. ¬_¬

I've got a doctors appointment on Wednesday, so I'll have to talk to him about it then. I was gonna get a Tubigrip in the meantime, but I haven't a clue what size I'm meant to use, and buying the wrong size'll either result in it not helping at all, or even making it all worse.

I seem to be experiencing an ophthalmic migraine...

I say "seem to be", because I'm not 100% sure. I've never had this before, so I searched online (though it was hard to read when you're vision is being screwed with), and this is the only thing that came close to my symptoms.

It's mostly gone though now (thank goodness). But my eyes still aren't back to being totally normal and I'm getting a bit og pain in my head now.

    Confuse!!

Ok, so I've had an pretty much non-stop migraine for a week and a half now. I had a small break somewhere in there when I took the Co-Codamol that Kate sent me to try. They took a while to work, but they cleared it up almost completely. I felt sooo much better. But, of course, it came back again.

Today, I called an out-of-hours doctors number, and after hearing my story, they made me an appointment at the local walk-in centre. The appointment was for 4pm. I saw a doctor, and she spoke with me about my symptoms, and about migraines in general. She wrote me a prescription containing Chlorpromazine, Dicloflex, and Co-Codamol. I've gotta take these for 2/3 days, and it should kill this thing off.

I've also gotta go to my local GP at some point to talk about this further, and see what other treatments I may need if it comes back again in the future.

We were in the pharmacy for an hour tonight, because they had problems with the hand-written prescription, and it not specifying a certain type of one of the meds. The lady at the pharmacy was very nice, but the receptionist(s) at the walk-in centre seemed unwilling to help to her clarify the information she needed to.

For a while, it seemed they couldn't even find me on the system to confirm I'd had the appointment at all. So finding the name of the doctor I saw was proving a nightmare. ¬_¬

Luckily, it all got sorted in the end, I'm gonna take my first doses tonight, and I should be ok to go to London on Wednesday, and fine to go back to work on Thursday. *fingers crossed*
