Ok, so I've had an pretty much non-stop migraine for a week and a half now. I had a small break somewhere in there when I took the Co-Codamol that Kate sent me to try. They took a while to work, but they cleared it up almost completely. I felt sooo much better. But, of course, it came back again.
Today, I called an out-of-hours doctors number, and after hearing my story, they made me an appointment at the local walk-in centre. The appointment was for 4pm. I saw a doctor, and she spoke with me about my symptoms, and about migraines in general. She wrote me a prescription containing Chlorpromazine, Dicloflex, and Co-Codamol. I've gotta take these for 2/3 days, and it should kill this thing off.
I've also gotta go to my local GP at some point to talk about this further, and see what other treatments I may need if it comes back again in the future.
We were in the pharmacy for an hour tonight, because they had problems with the hand-written prescription, and it not specifying a certain type of one of the meds. The lady at the pharmacy was very nice, but the receptionist(s) at the walk-in centre seemed unwilling to help to her clarify the information she needed to.
For a while, it seemed they couldn't even find me on the system to confirm I'd had the appointment at all. So finding the name of the doctor I saw was proving a nightmare. ¬_¬
Luckily, it all got sorted in the end, I'm gonna take my first doses tonight, and I should be ok to go to London on Wednesday, and fine to go back to work on Thursday. *fingers crossed*
