Re: Baking
I know I've made my own topic for my baked goodies (which really needs updating - lol), but here's a topic for everyone to use. =3
Of course, feel free to create your own topic for your stuffs too, but I thought I'd make this for general use.
I'm experimenting with silicone moulds today. Usually, I'm a cupcake maker. I make them in the little paper cases. I've made a big cake once, in a metal tin, and it came out fine.
But I've heard alot about silicone moulds, and I thought it was about time I tried them. So, with Valentine's literally around the corner, I've bought some heart some moulds. One metal, and two silicone (I ended-up with two after I panic bought one in the shops when I was scared the one I got from eBay wouldn't arrive in time).
So far, I've made one in each. The metal one, to my surprise, failed. Hard. It wouldn't come out. The cake is now in bits, in a bowl, for Kaze to consume. XD
The silicone one surprised me amazingly!! It came right out, with little effort at all from me. I'm now making a second because, whilst this cake came out fine, I think it'll come out even better on the second go (I think it needed about 5 minutes more on the cooking time).
I'll let you know if the second comes out as easily.
