Future TMNT Movie Empty Future TMNT Movie

Post by Fizzie Tue Mar 20, 2012 5:23 am

So we all know there's gonna be another one, and there's been rumours of live action mixed with CG. Personally, I think they should stick to the TMNT CG movie style they already used. It's fine, and has a comic-book feel.

But anyway, I just had to post this absolutely outragous piece of a bullsh*t idea (quoted from Michael Bay Changes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Origins For New Movie:

"‘Transformers’ director Michael Bay has revealed plans to completely transform the origins of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' for a new movie.

Launched in the mid-1980s, the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' (renamed 'Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles' for a number of European countries, including the UK) have gone on to star in several animated series, but the new live-action movie from Paramount will have a questionable twist.

Originally, the characters were pet turtles that were exposed to toxic waste and turned into superheroes we know and love.

However, director/producer Bay, best known for the 'Transformers' movies, will turn the turtles into aliens for their latest big screen outing.

"Appearing at the Nickelodeon Upfront 2012 event at the Lincoln Centre in New York, producer Bay said that he and potential director Jonathan Liebesman are totally changing the original story for the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' movie.

“When you see this movie, kids will believe, one day, that these turtles do exist... These turtles are from an alien race, and they’re going to be tough, edgy, funny, and completely lovable.”

Having already brought ‘Transformers’ to the big screen with mixed feelings from fans of the original series, Bay is no stranger to recreating the 80s – albeit with serious question marks.

The now-alien turtles are set for a Christmas release date in 2013."

F*ck off, Bay!! Just f*ck right off!!

There's no need for this. No need what so ever. Why change one of the most important aspects of the story!? Grrr!! So f*cking p*ssed right now!! D=<

Big problems with this. Three of them being the Neutrinos, and one of them being Krang. You can guarantee Krang will be in it >_<

I'm assuming the film will just be called "Turtles" or something. This is absolutely ridiculous. The clue's in the title, Bay; MUTANT.

Why has Bay even got hold of this? What idiot signed it over to him in the first place!?

Lemme start with saying that I have an equal amount of worry to excitement about this new movie. I have ever since it was first mentioned. As with any movie, game, etc, the next instalment has the potential to be a hit or a miss. You never really know until it's here.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the Turtles back on the big screen again. But! Most of us Turtle fans will have heard about Bay's "they're not mutants, they're aliens now" crap, right? And personally, I'm hoping it's just another of his bad jokes. But with Bay being Bay, you can never be sure - he's a f*cking idiot, after all.

But let's suppose this is the path he tasks (because it's "more realistic", apparently). So, getting over the fact we're supposed to accept that, by some incredible coincidence, some planet, somewhere, plays host to humanoid turtles, rather than some original, new species - it just happens to be animals we recognise. Who speak English.

What about Splinter? Has he come from a different planet that just happens to play host to humanoid rats? Another version of our wildlife. Where they speak Japanese? Or is the Turtles' planet just full of our own wildlife? Speaking all kinda of Earth languages? Wow. You're right, Bay. That's alot more believable than just having our own wildlife mutated right here on Earth. Not.

And don't even start about Biker Mice From Mars. It's a different universe, and, whilst I'll still accept their storyline, I still think the mutant idea is more "realistic" - which is what we're arguing here - Bay's "logic".

Honestly, it's not them being aliens that's the problem. Had the Turtles come from space originally, there'd be no issue. But the fact is; they didn't. And there's no need to change that. That is the problem.

If it ain't broke; don't fix it.

    So many cookies for you.

I agree that Bay shouldn't have been given this project, he altered the origin story of the Transformers (they weren't here for hundreds of years nor had they been here before), but he got lucky with that one and it's now widely accepted by TF fans all over.

It's a different kettle of fish with the Turtles, though. Their origins work perfectly and don't need to be messed with. Yeah sure, they messed the origin stories a little in the 80s films, but not by much. The only real difference was that in the cartoon, Splinter WAS Hamato Yoshi rather than his pet rat, Goober. Not a huge change and made little difference to the overal story. But to make them aliens!? I honestly think I won't be watching this one.

Something else to think about; what over-paid, under tallented idiot is he going to get to voice Splinter?

Good question. Although I'm more worried about what little skank he'll pick to play April, and how much clothing won't she be wearing? =/

    I hadn't thought about that one o.O

You watch, he'll get someone with a high male fan base and will scantly dress her in an attempt to distract from his blunder of changing their origins.

I don't even see the need for it. Movies like Transformers and Ninja Turtles already has a large male fanbase. What he needs to work on is getting the females in - and no amount of skanky flesh is gonna do that.

And no, I'm not saying get some topless men in it or something. I don't wanna see that anymore than I wanna see skanky women. I think it's sexist any way you do it, and it doesn't even need to be done.

Meh. I'm rambling. But you get the idea. XD

Yeah, I'm fully aware of where you stand on the subject, lol.

TMNT is set in New York, not the warmest of places. There is nothing wrong with whoever he gets to play April wearing something very similar to the clothes she wore in the original cartoon. That's how everyone remembers her best.
