Background: Francis Hyne, out of Freya Hyne by Jose Hyne. After the Overseer initiated the outbreak several years before, most of the planet lived in fear. Due to this, armed forces began accepting people at a younger age. Schools became, essentially, drafting centres. Francis showed great promise as he grew, surpassing most of the students in his year.
During firearms training, Francis often neglected automatic rifles to use handguns. It soon became obvious that he was better with those than with rifles. He found that the weight of them made them easier to use, which was only increased by his love for handguns.
The time came for graduation and full enrolment into S.T.A.R.S. there had been reports of a wave of zombies in the area, and so the graduation was to be kept short. As Francis was about to receive his enlistment papers, zombies burst in through most of the entrances. At that moment, Francis grabbed a few guns and began pouring round after round into the wave of zombies. The current S.T.A.R.S and his fellow students promptly joined him. During the attack, they suffered a few casualties, which included Francis’ parents.
Francis fully devoted his life to wiping out the zombies, even if it meant that he lost his life in the process. Because of this attitude, Francis was selected as part of team that was to infiltrate the source of the outbreak and, at least, retrieve the antidote. The mission was almost a complete failure, as his team suffered almost complete casualties. Francis was the only one to survive. He was bitten, but he managed to get a dose of the antidote into him before the virus could do its job.
When he had finished, he fought his way back out and called for immediate evacuation. The antidote could mean the end of the zombies. Francis was evacuated to a location far from the battle zone, to a place where the antidote could be examined and an attempt to recreate it can be made. However long it took.
During his time away from the battlefield, Francis rarely stopped training. He trained through fatigue and illness. During his intensive training, he almost crippled himself irreparably. Franics’ hate for the zombies grew intense, so intense he wanted to see the look on their rotting faces as he delivered the killing blow to them.
