    TMNT Empty TMNT

Post by Fizzie Fri May 16, 2008 10:01 am

    Anyone else played this?

I've played it on the PS2, so I'll tell you a little bit about my experiances.

I find their jumps feel kinda heavy and kinda scarey when you're hoping that (even after double-jumping) they'll make it to the next platform or something. And during your first play, you'll sometimes find that when you jump, they'll then run across a wall you didn't really want them to, pass over a platform you wanted them to stand on, and fall to their doom shortly afterwards.

Camera angles in this are scarey!! Seriously! Not good. Sometimes you can hardly see where you're meant to be jumping, climbing, or avoiding. Camera angles have almost always proven to be a problem in gaming, and unforunatly, this game isn't much different. Sometimes it's just a matter of guess work.

With all that in-mind, though, it's great fun to play!! It's nice to get a feel for each character's fighting style, and, once again, Mike's my favourite. Seriously, I'm not just saying that because he's my favourite Turtle (or because I'm abit of a nunchaku fan myself). I find him way more fun to play as, and his attacks just stream together so smoothly too.

I love bashing those bad guys with my chucks! So fun!! Hehehe!!

I've not played it, but I'm beginning to think about getting hold of it somewhere to try it out.

You should. It's really good fun, and only annoying when the controls seems to lag! >_<

Here's some piccies for you guys:

There's just not enough fighting in this game, to be honest. Too much jumping around (and falling to your doom if the camera isn't in a helpful position). And having the jump button the same as the "jump and run across the wall button" is not really very helpful.

As I think I mentioned earlier, far too many a time does a Turtle run across a wall, past a platform you really wanted to stand on, and fall to his doom as a result.

    But yeah, there's far too much running around aimlessly crap. I wanna kick some ass Turtle style!! Battles don't happen anywhere near often enough, and when they do; they're often over too quickly. ;_;

It is still fun, despite it faults. And the comic book lay-out makes it even more fun! Listening to the guys trying to tell various stories is pretty funny half the time, especially when Mike gets over-excited about something. Haha!!

Leo's "individual move" is that he can phase through some solid objects. And by this; I mean hardly any. Same goes for Raph's thing as he can climb some walls with his sai... again, more like hardly any at all.

Don's move is like a poll-vault, so that you can still cross distances when the ceilings are low and you can't use the double-jump or use a member of the family to help you. So that's proven to be pretty useful.

Mike's move is, well, weird, but cool. He uses his chucks as helicoptor-blades and you can kinda fly for a little while. It's helped quite alot, and it's fun to hear him humming. =p

As far as who's best to battle with; it has to be Mike. His moves are great fun to watch, and they all seem to flow together really well. And he's the fastest fighter (as always), which helps. And hey, he's a chucker; win win all the way!!

Leo's great for fighting too, but just not as great as Mike. But it sure is fun swinging those blades around! Haha!!

Don's pretty good too, actually. He's got a good range and swinging the bo-staff around is pretty fun!!

Raph... is the worst, in my opinion. He's the slowest, and that really effects how it feels for me. Wish any game inwhich there's fighting, I feel best when using a light, fast, character (and fun weapons are a plus too - hehe). He has the worst range as well, which really sucks concidering how slow he is too. He apparently (I've read), has the highest damage, but as I rarely use him in battle; I wouldn't really know.

Anyways, I'll leave you with that.

It's a good, fun, game though. But it would have been sooo much better if it played like Dynasty Warriors!! Can you imagine taking on group after group after group of The Foot!? Smacking 'em all around whilst you're surrounded!?

    How cool would that be!?

It annoys me a little bit when they make games before waiting for the finished movie, because the game's storyline is meant to match that of the movie, but in quite a few places; it doesn't.
