I've only been playing since this morning (yes, I know I'm behind, but not having a job meant not being able to buy the game from Xbox Arcade), so these are just my first impressions really. Well, honestly, my very first impressions came from a sneaky peak on YouTube a while ago. And my initial thoughts were: "I'm so glad they've gone back to basics", "I'm liking the new twists on the classic features", and "I hope the entire game isn't just a remake".

Sonic games, like most games (especially retros), have always had a basic formula as far as level design goes. So I can forgive that. But boss fight after boss fight after boss fight a remake? Yeah, I'm loving the little tweaks they've given them. Robotnik/EggMan going battshit crazy is hilarious. XD But c'mon... you're seriously asking people to pay for a game straight out of a mixing bowl of old classics? o_O Fair enough, but lower the price, at least! This isn't a brand new game by any means.

Ok, to be honest, I'm loving it. I love the mix, but that's purely because I've always loved the classic Sonic games, I think. I dunno if, as a new player, I'd like it as much. I guess I'll have to find someone who wasn't all that into Sonic, and ask them what they think. But, myself, it's great fun!!

Though I'm not liking the controls much. Sonic feels way too... heavy? I dunno if that's the right word. But he just doesn't flow like he used to, and I hate that he automatically uncurls on jumps. Curled jumps have saved, and will save lives!! Give it back by Episode 2, please!!

The music's got a nice touch to it. It's, again, like they've chucked stuff into a big mixing bowl, but this time it's adding elements from old and new. Which I think is really nice. But it does feel a little lacking for some reason.

My favourite level so far is Casino Street: Act 2. I could (and probably will) play this level over and over just because it's so much fekkin fun!! 8D

However, Casino Street: Act 3 is both boring, and annoying. ¬_¬ I died several times when using the cannons, simply because Sonic seemed to be hitting an invisible wall, which would then cause him to fall to his death.

Oh, and I love the Sonic The Hedgehog 1 sprite used on the loading screen!! X3 *fans*

But yeah, so far, I love this game. It's still not as good as Sonic The Hedgehog 2, but hey, I'm a hardcore fan of that fun (and rage) inducing game. I don't think they'll ever be able to top that one for me. =3

Also, if you haven't already, please answer The Age-Old Question.... ;p

I think it's usually 1200, but it's on a deal for Gold Members at 800 at the moment.

Oops. Haven't played for a while. ^^; It has the ability to induce rage. So I thought I'd take a break a while back. And then I kinda forgot about it. I'll have to play sometime soon though (wish I'd remembered before I'm about to go back to work - lol).

But yeah... the physics on it are horrible.
