Firstly, forget the horse. You'll be disappointed with their animation and speed. You can move faster than a horse by raising your stamina and finding the final two words for your Whirlwind Sprint (which is the first Shout you recieve as part of the main questline) and alternating between shouting and sprinting.

Money you can get anywhere. Coin purses laying around, single coins scattered around places. You can even sell equipment, weapons, books, and anything else you find on your travels. Most of the larger towns and cities, such as Whiterun, Riften and Solitude have shops you can sell stuff in, and the type of shop will determine how much you can get for each item. You can identify shops by the hanging signs outside. These are only open during the day and attempting to enter them at night will count as trespassing. If you come across a bar, chances are they'll have a room to "rent" for about 10 coins, though this depends on the settlement. These are also identified by the sign outside the building.

Usually if you get arrested, you have the choice of paying the fine, which is dependent on your bounty level. If you've stolen a small item, you should only have to pay a small fine up to what the item is actually worth.

You won't come across dragons too much, for the time being. I only recently got attacked by my first random dragon, and I'm at level 14, roughly. You're more likely to find them guarding word walls, which are important if you're wanting to learn all the different Shouts. Some of these dragons are easily defeated with a strong enough weapon. I'm trying to find information on what part of the main questline they start appearing with more and more regularity.

Lastly, have you changed your control layout to legacy, yet? You should either be able to do this ingame through the options, or your defaults throught the XB360 dashboard. Knowing the difficulty you have with the normal control layout, I strongly recommend you change to Legacy before you go any further.

If I have left anything out, let me know.

Throwing a fireball at it seems to do well for me. Or have Lydia decide to shoot arrows at anything that moves. I did have an interesting encounter at fort greymoor. A dragon came in and chased a mammoth into the fort. The mammoth proceeded to kill everything in its sight. Then the mammoth and the dragon went at it. Naturally, the mammoth was winning; I was not expecting that at all. I picked up the kill with a few fireballs and left the mammoth alone, as anything that can take on a dragon and an entire fort of bandits is not something i feel like dealing with.

Quoted from another site. I was trying to find out the best way to attract a dragon's attention. This made me laugh, so I thought I'd share the wealth

You only looked at the presets, didn't you?

I'll get a picture of my Argonian, later. He looks rather awesome in the Thieves Guild armour.

Nope. I played with everything. But they just don't do anything pleasing. So she just ended-up like that.

I literally only just reached level 4 lastnight. It's been that long since I've bothered with it. I'm not really sure why, but this game bores me. And there's just too much f*cking about in every quest. They've really made things far more niggly and complicated than they need to be.

I'll keep playing, but I seem to be doing a quest of two (depending on how big) and then just turning it off again out of bordom.

What do you mean when you say there's too much "f**king" about in every quest?

Just too much of having to go from one town to the next, and the next, and the next, just to do something simple. Don't get me wrong, I know that happens in RPGs, but in Skyrim, I'm just finding it more trouble than it's worth.

It's weird. I'm more than happy to watch Kaze play it, but when I'm playing it myself, it just bores me.

Not exactly. I'm trying to, but also doing whatever other quests are in the same area. But they're such a jumble.

Then I'm not surprised that you feel there's too much f**king around. If all the quests from one area all went in the same direction, it would get boring. Individually, most of the quests are well structured, but when you mix them all together, it is a jumble.

Try concentrating on one at a time. If there are two, or three, that have their next objective in the same area as each other, then by all means complete those objectives while you're there.

i smelt the map too >.<

I wasn't too sure i'd really like this game when it came out so i didn't buy it. Then alot of my friends started talking about it and it actually sounded quite good. so i gave in and brought it.
65 hours later and i'm so hooked its unreal. I barely play any other games >.< My boyfriend brought me the collectors edition for christmas (sneakily he brought the ps3 version as i already had the xbox version so now he can play the ps3 version!) There's always something to do and if i don't feel like running back and forth i mount up on my horse and find me a dungeon full of things to kill Very Happy

Not sure if I've mentioned this, but I'm RPing my playthroughs. I'm a little disappointed that they didn't do a hardcore mode for Skyrim, like they did in Fallout: New Vegas, that would've been cool. It would've made RPing a lot easier, lol.
