We're oxygen breathing, carbon based lifeforms that life on a planet with 1 atmosphere of pressure and 1G of gravity. What's to say there isn't, for example, methane breathing, silicon based lifeforms capable of living under many more atmospheres of pressure and enduring several times the gravity of Earth?
