"I hate it when you call me that..." She mumbles as she turns back from the window.
Yawning, and with no intention of rushing, she starts pulling draws open, searching for some clean clothes to wear. One by one she tosses her items of choice behind her, onto her bed. A pair of black bottoms, a white vest top with a target image on the front, her black bangles, and her black belted style, cuff. And then her black boots... which land firmly ontop of the white vest.
"I swear you were dropped on your head as a child." She hears her brother sigh. "You can't wear that now!" He says as he picks-up the white vest, now with dirty sole of boot inprints all over it.
Before she even has a chance to ask how he even got in to her appartment, Dehx is already checking around for her bag... which he finds... empty.
"You didn't make your lunch, did you!?" He frowns.
"Relax." She replies as she heads-off into her bathroom. "I've got some sandwiches in my locker."
"What the f*ck!?" Dehx drops her bag in the shock, then shakes his head to prevent himself even trying to picture what horrifying state her locker would now be in after having sandwiches left in them for the entire school holiday. "Unforgiveable..." He says, almost feeling sick from the very thoughts he's trying to shake, and then realizing that the lockers change hands every year depending on which class you're in... so someone else would now have to deal with that revolting locker.
"Ready!!" Smiles Chloe as she poses on her exit from the bathroom, wearing a black vest with a "soul" image on the front, instead of the original white vest she'd chosen before - much to Dehx's relief.
"Come on." He says, heading to and out the door, with his sister following behind. "Only you could make us late on our first back..."
"Can we stop at the sweetie shop on the way?" She asks, as if she'd just ignored her brother's words.
"No." He answers.
"But I need some sugar!" She begs, pulling at his arm. "Pleeeaaase, I'm really tired! I need an energy boost of sugary goodness!!"
"Then you should've got your lazy ass outta bed earlier and made some breakfast." He says. "It's the most important meal of the day, you know."
"What about a lift?" She asks, referring to a piggy-back.
"No." He answers.
"Pleeeaaase?" She asks again.
"No!" He growls.
However... a little later, they arrive at the school gates... with Chloe happily lazing, with a lollipop in her mouth, on Dehx's back as he'd had given in to her at some point on the way.
"Alright, get off now." He says, allowing her to slide off his back, so he could at least walk into school without anybody having seen his sister acting like a human back-pack.
After checking which class they would be in this year, they find themselves outside the Dagger Room. And as Chloe finishes her lollypop, Dehx pushes open the door with a heavy sigh... he knew being late wasn't the best way to make a good impression on whatever new teacher they had. He just hoped that, whoever they were, they'd let it slide, at least just for today. He didn't much fancy the idiot of being made an example of on his first day back.
"Nice of your to join us, Tabits." The teacher, Julian Cohl, comments as they walk in, and they stop in their tracks.
Luckily, it's a teacher they already know quite well, but that doesn't stop Dehx from worrying when he notices another student is already clearly introuble as he's being forced to stand infront of the entire class for some reason. And Chloe doesn't help matters as she playfully pokes her tongue out at the teacher. Dehx brings his palm up to his face, sighing heavily again.
Chloe doesn't even notice her poor brother, as her focus shifts when she also notices the other student standing at the front of the class. She looks up at him, who's already been turned to face the siblings since they first made their late arrival, somewhat relieved that someone else was now the focus of attention rather than himself.
She stares up at him, almost as if she's drawn to his gaze. She doesn't even seem to hear the teacher's voice anymore, and it isn't until Dehx physically pulls at her arm to finally find themselves a seat, after seemingly having been let-off for their lateness, that she snaps-out of whatever it is she's in. Well, almost, as she looks over her shoulder at him as she's being pulled along.
